San ders, Esq.; situated about 4 miles East or this city. The lire occurred about 9f o'clock on Friday night, after the family had retired to their beds, and had . gained such headway I before It was discovered that there was no possibility with the limited means at com mand to arrest the flames in their career of de struction. Every building on the premises, including dwellings, kitchen, smoke-house and servants quarters, were destroyed. A portion of the furniture was saved, but a large number of fine trees, shrubbery, Ac, were ruined, which is a great loss. The loss Is estimated at $7,000, npon which there is an insurance in the Underwriter's Agency, of New York, represented by Messrs. L. H. & T. C. DeRosset, in this city, of $2,000. The Are originated on tho roof near the kitchen and Is supposed to have been csu6ed by a spark. A strance visiter. J Mr, u. a. uanzer, at Mr. j. O.
