An Artful Dodger Cornea to Grief. Essex Hill, colored, charged with impli cation in the robbery of Mr. J. H. Hems' trunk of clothing, on the night of the late fire, was arrested yesterday and required to give security in the sum of $200 for his ap pearance before Justice Cassidey on Mon day morning, at 10 o'clock, in default of which he was committed to jaiL A war rant was issued for Hill at the same time with the others previously mentioned, but he succeeded in evading arrest until yester day. Removal. On or about the first of next week Messrs. Aaron & Rheinstein will remove their well known and popular clothing and dry goods establishment to their new store on Front street, at present occupied by Messrs. Grant & Cowan, where they will have more room to accommodate their largely increased bus iness. They expect, in their new quarters, to offer superior inducements to the whole sale and retail trade and invite the public to give them a call before purchasing else where. Died In Hospital. Mr. David Ross, an aged seaman, em ployed on the revenue cutter Seward, died at the City Hospital yesterday. Mr. Ross had been in the revenue service for thirty- seven years, or almost an ordinary life-time. His funeral will take place from the Hos pital this mornine. at 11 o'clock. The Seward is expected to arrive in time for her officers and men to participate in the last sad tribute of respect to the memory of their old shipmate. Horaee Greeley. Hon. Horace Greeley having signified his intention of being present at the Fair of the Carolinas, which takes place in Char lotte on the 23rd of October, we are glad to learn that a movement is on foot to make an effort to induce him to extend bis visit to this city. Wilmington would extend a cordial welcome to our future President and we hope he may find it convenient to ac cept the invitation. Mayor's Court.
