The Raleigh SenNntl, in speaking of the perfor mance in that city on Friday night, says: "Seldom has this city been visited by a troupe of the high order of merit which this one possesses. Their entertainment Thursday evening, nt Metropolitan Hall, gave a high degree of satisfaction, and it was thoroughly appreciative.- Kebecchini violin solos, the Violin duets of the young Corn brothers, Eckerts French Lorn solo and Lugi Snedaif clarionet solo, were per formances evidencing a high standard of excellence. In fact, all these performers are artists and the music which they rend ered was of a rare order." As a cantatrice, Miss Viola Pomeroy, en Joys a deservedly high reputation. Her voice has a richness and volume rarely ex celled, and cultivation has placed it well under control. .Combined with tuu gift of musical . genius, Miss Pomeroy possesses great personal attractiveness, and upon the stage presents a queenly appearance. The audience, on the evening above mentioned, was enthused by her performances and greeted her with round after round of ap- lause. Melody seems to flow from her ips without an effort." ln addition to the .above complimentary notice, we have a letter from Dr. Blacknall, of the Yarborough House, wlio says 4 All who have heard them here feel no hesitancy in saying that no such combination of musi cal talent has ever visited the State, and. to hear them Is a treat only to be enjoyed by a visit to New York; and to me the idea of their making a tour through our towns looks like a school of whales leaving the deep waters of the Atlantic to find a healthy I Summer retreat up old Tar River."
