, So far this Summer has been one of the
mildest, taken altogether, that has been
known in many years. We have had a few
days of excessive heat, but iu every in
stance ,. the - temperature - has speedily
changed and we have been favored with a
pleasant re-action. During many of the
warmest days of the season we hate also
been favored with fresh and invigorating
breezes from "old Ocean," which have in a
great measure neutralizedVthe effects of the
heat, and made our "city by the sea" really
an abode of comfort and pleasure to a de
cree t which ft we ttwill ' veature "t'try
say is rarely . experienced at . many
of the famous' watering places and
other favorite resorts of health and pleasure-
seekers. The nights, too, have as a general
thing been pleasant and comfortable and
calculated to woo the drowsy god. ' Should
the season continue so propitious there will
be no necessity for our citizens to leave
their homes to seek more pleasant climes
and healthful breezes, as, in that case, we
can well afford to invite our friends in the
interior to come and summer it among us.
