Leake and others, the following preamble and resolu tions were adopted: Whereas, we the citizens of Wilmington and constituents of Hons. G. L. Mabson and James Heaton, have learned through I the published accounts of the proceedings 01 the General Assembly 01 the action of these gentlemen relative to the repeal of such portion of the charter of the city of Wilmington as to the election of Mayor and Aldermen; and whereas, we. regard such action'on the part of said Representatives as directly opposed to the best interests of this community, contrary to the wishes of thejpeople, and a usurpation of power by tbeTrties interested in the nassaseoL the rbill, and in the interests of a monopoly; therefore . , , '" JSesoltiedThsii we deprecate the Course pursued by these representatives, and that we consider them as unworthy of the con fidence of -those whose suffrages elevated them to their present positions, and that .Geo.
