His abdomen is . naturally, full, but at will, without the use of his hands, he given it a wave-like mo tion and it gradually sinks in as if being wound up, until it apparently rests close against the backbone, and he presents the appearance of a man with no abdomen, and- then in the s:une mannerfjhe ; rolls it out to its original form." No Danger. It has been generally known in this city for a few days past that a case of yellow fever had occurred on board of the Span ish Barque Elvira, at the Quarrantine sta tion about thirty miles below this city, and that one death had been announced from the disease. We art now glad to state, on the authority of Dr. Potter, the Quarran tine Physician, that perfect health reigns among the remainder of the ship's officers and crew and that no danger of a further spread of the disease among them is appre hended. The vessel has been thoroughly fumigated and will be detained at quarran tine until the last vestige of danger has been thoroughly dispelled. Dr. Potter has acted with the utmost precaution in the matter. Attempted. Robbery. An effort was made yesterday morning, about 2 o'clock, to enter the store of Mr. Henry Hashagen, corner of Fourth and Walnut Btreet. The thief was trying to prize open the front door sufficiently to loosen the bar, but it happened that the bar was firmly secured and did not so read ily yield to the pressure, and in the mean time Mr. H. heard the noise and frightened the thief off.
