The Weather.! 'r ;:
We learn that considerable snow fell
north and west of here yesterday, and some
of the cars of a freight train arriving in the
afternoon, on the Weldon' road,; were cov
ered with it to the depth of two or three
inches. In this! city and vicinity it was
very cold, cloudy arid disagreeable, with
occasional light! rains. Icycles were pend
ant from many of the roofs and ice in thin
cakes was noticed in several instances in
household vessels. . ; j

inclemency ofr the weather; however, pre
vented a very large turn-out of spectators.
The costumes were simply magnificent,

that a small dwelling house and kitchen, lo
cated in Webbville, a suburb of that town,
