I refer to the daily or rather nightly stealing which is constantly being: carried on; in our city. In ?other cities, especially in the North and West, men will not submit to having their prem ises invaded and their , property constantly stolen. There vigilance' committees make short shrift of tramps. Here we need. some thing of the kind. No political crusade. but an alliance, an organization of honest men, both negro and white,.for their own protection, and to rid i themselves of these thieving scoundrels, who, too lazy to work, nightly invade the premises of honest men and. deprive them of the fruits of their labor.
