The directors are in session to-night, but nothing is known of their proceedings. Sept. 2.-r-The elections up to this hour, 4 : 15 A: M.5, are meagre, but indicate that I he Democrats have elected their State ticket by a large majority. Houghton, Re publican, and Lutterell, ' Democrat, for Congress, are probably elected from their respective Districts, the Hid and IVth. No returns have yet been received from the city precincts. ; - : -f ' - In the lid Congressional District the fight is between Pae, Republican, and Larkin, Democrat Tattle, Independent, in the same district, is much behind his ticket.' The impression is qmta general , that Piper, Democrat, for Congress in this dis trict, is ahead, but all speculations as to the result in this city at the present hour are useless. 1 : '. '7.
