V" Kro Captu red at KenanavtIle by SherllT Wallace, of Baplln Tbe Boraea Taken With iiomi correspondent at Kenansville we have infoimation of the capture at that place, ) on Saturday last, by the Sheriff of Duplin, of two negroes representing their names to be Henry Wheeler and Henrv Hall, upon suspicion of having stolen horses wnicn turned but to bo true. , O" : Sheriff Wallace" received a dispatch late in the afternoon, from Bureaw. Pender county, to look out for stolen horses de scribing the horses exactly, and signed "Pe- potH negroes are from Pender county. .but urh examinatiou before Justice Car roll they both stated they were from Samp son county, Lisbon township, and had been in the employ of Mr. Bronson. ' After they were lodged in jail they confessed to t he Sheriff thathe horees were stolen aud gave tue names oi me parties, that they belonged to J esse : Croom and Aaron Peter son, of Bladen county. Both were fine horses and in good condition. Henry Hall is an ex-clerk of Caswell township, Pender county, and of a bright copper color.5 The other Henry Wheeler, is as black as Ben. Butler's character. ; They are now in good hands, and, it is presumed, will be dealt with accordingto law at the next teim of Duplin Court. O - -w Latboi. From gentlemen coming in from Caswell township, Pender county, last night, we learn that the names of Henry Hall and; Henry Wheeler, -given by the thieves, were merely assumed for the occa sion, and that-their real names those, at least, by which they are known in Pender areStilley Pridgen and Matthew John son, respectively. : ' O Elopament Extraardlaary. - We learn that an extraordinary case of elopement, for this part of the "moral vine yard." occurred in our - sister coun ty of Brunswick a few days since.; The femi nine' party to the strange compact, is a white woman, the wife of a man employed at the Belvidiere plantation, aged about 2& years, and her partner in the transaction is a colored boy by the name of Scipio Patrick, aged about 15 years. . It appears that the woman went to a : colored church near Easy Hill, on the evening of Sunday before last, where she met the boy, when they by -'some'-' means procured a team, went to her house her husband being ab sent at the plantation took all the . latter's clothing, what money he had, a bed&c., and then . drove to a point on . the river known as "Riverside, " where they succeed ed iu getting on board of one of the boats bound , to Fayelteville. We withhold the name of the woman out of respect to the feeliBgs of the wronged and "deserted , Lus band. . v ; btaatneful. -, Yesterday morning, boys were almost as plentiful in the fig-trees of a citizen on Red Cross street as were the figs themselves, and we understand that the numerical ratio of the latter to the former was rapidly changing in favor of the boys. At this in teresting juncture a yourg man who was passing had the hardyhood to spoil all their fun by stating to them that a policeman was at hand, and that he, the said young man, together with the said policeman, pro posed to accompany- them.-the said boys, then and there to the Guard House. This intelligence caused a precipitate retreat in bad order, a scramble over sundry fences at the risk of their necks, and a slide down the steep embankment into the railroad cut, where hospitable shelter was found. And then that cruel young" man laughed ! Fel-low-citizens," are bur' unsuspecting infants to be thus deprived of tlie ' results of their skill and enterprise and the tyrant to go un punished ?
