REastMtrate'a Court. . . I Bryan McMillan and Ben j. Price, two members of the police force, were before Justice T. M. Gardner, yesterday, charged on the affidavit of one Mollie Harris, a somewhat notorious character from "Pad dy's Hollow," with false imprisonment, she having been arrested by them and lodged in the Guard House. After hearing the i evidence the two policemen were dis charged, the Justice remarking that they had performed their duty in arresting the complainant under the circumstances. Republican Meeting. A mass meeting of the Republicans is advertised to take place at City Hall this evening, "by; order of the Committee of Arr angements." The object of the meet ing, as set forth, is to consider and explain matters relative to the Convention, and also to consider county affairs. The latter prob ably has reference to the vacancy on the Board of County Commissioners, which Alderman Holmes and other leading col ored men think should be filled by one of their own race. Tne Regatta In accordance with previous promise, we give the list of yachts entered: for the retxatta at Wrights.ville Sound to-day. Those who want to sniff the salt air and hear the old sea roar will find this a pleas- ant time to do all that, and-rwhat will seem even better to many have a look at the last and perhaps the best race of the season.
