Nathan Fair alias Henry Graham, color ed, who was up before the City Court yes- terdav morninz on the charge of disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to thirty, days in the chain-gang, was subsequently turned over to the Sheriff, who lodged him in jail to await the action of Judge McKoy in his case. He is the same individual who, a tew weeks since, tried so hard to get an order from the Sheriffs office admitting him into the county jail. He now pretends to be anxious to go to his home at Laurinburg, but as he has ben sent there three different times at the expense of the county and city together, it was not thought safe to trust him on this occasion, although he solemnly declared, with right hand uplifted, that if be was sent this one time more be would never come back as long as Wilmington stood on the ground." Graham, who is not Dossessed of more than half the sense of an ordinarily intelligent being, created quite a di version by his remarks in the Court room, and when sentenced to work on the streets said, "Look here! you can put a man on the streets, but you can't make him work unless he wants to, can you?" market Iteoort. i The follpwing is the report of the Clerk of the Market for the week ending Sept 18, 1875: ; . .
