Ned Wright, the colored man alluded to in our. last as having , been arrested for stealing copper, had a bearing before Jus tice Gardner yesterday.-1 Mr. ' Randall Me. Millan (not tbe Sheriff of Robesou, as we had been erroneously informed), who had telegraphed to have him arrested, was the prosecuting witness. He stated that the store of Mr. Daniel G. McMiilan, of Fay etteyille, was entered Satuiay.jnigiit;'and the copptr stolen therefrom, upon finding the wiudow open and the copper mising on the following morning he instituted in quiries and ascertained that a box had been placed on the Steamer Gov. ir&rt, without any. mark upon it, but that it baa been en tered on the freight bill to the name of Ned Wright, who had expressly said that be did not want any mark on it, as it con tained eggs which he was to sell, jit appears that Wright then went off and never returned until just as the j boat was shoving off irom tbe wharf, jwhen he ran down and jumped on lhe deck. Finding that he had left on the boat, Mr. McMillan telegraphed to the Chief of Po lice of this city, with the result already mentioned. Officer Miller testified to mak ing the arrest, finding the copper in the possession of Wright, &c , Defendant was required to give bond in the sum of $100 for his appearance a. the next' term of tbe Superior Court for Cumberland, bounty, in default of which he was lodged in jail. Ortro.ii for the Temple ot Inriael. We noticed at Heinsberger's, yesterday, the fine Organ purchased of him for tbe Jewish Temple of Israel. It is a very neat and handsome instrument, ami is known as the two manual and pedal base organ, with six sets of reeds and twelve stops, in an up right resonant case and of extra finish. It has a blow handle at the back, and a foot blow pedal, by which the performer can himself supply wind, four sets of vibrations throughout, one of four feet pitch, one of eight feet pitch, to upper manual; and one of eight feet, and one of sixteen feet: to lower manual. There are two independent sets of vibrators to the pedals, one of eight feet pitch and one of sixteen feet. The pedals are of full scale, twenty-seven notes. The organ is accompanied by a black wal nut bench for the performer. It will be in position in time for the dedication, which take's place on tbe 12th of May. memorial Day. .-(j- Tbe Ladies' Memorial Association had & meeting yesterday afternoon for tbe pur , . - ... pose of making preparations for me proper celebration of Memorial Day, ,the 10th . of May.
