I ..-.-'-ri :-;!- A few days since la yoke of oxen, at tached to a cart, were halted at the ferry at Hilton to await the coming of the flat, and in the meantime the driver, leaving the team in care of another man, went off a short distance. The oxen started fori the water to slake their thirst and were 'soon beyond their depth, the man in whose care they were left discovering' the fact when it Was too late. The vehicle, being intended for hauling timber, was of very heavy ma terial, and soon had the oxen submerged.
