The scene in the vicinity of the Court House yesterday morning was a distressing reminder of the fact lhat, although our city has been blessed with comparative good health during the past and present season, yet there is a considerable amount of want, suffering and destitution in our midst. It was ration day for the out door poor, and the room where the orders are dealt out by the Poor Committee, together with the passages snd the sidewalk in front of the Court House, were thronged with the maimed, the halt, the blind, and sufferers irom an tne various ins ot which nesh is heir to; and yet, we sre informed, the orders for provisions are not likely to be tilled on account of the difficulty of collect ing from the county the money due for the same. Among the number of applicants for aid yesterday the re appeared to be many fit subjects of charity.
