Raleigh News Report Concensed. THIRD DAT The report of the Sunday School Board was taken up as the special or der of tho hour. 1 Rev. J. J. James regarded the Sunday School work as one of the most important of the denomination, and the only hope of the Baptists were the Sunday Schools. It was the great barrier of Infidelity. He did not think any Board had done such a great work as had this. Ma j. W. A. . Graham moved to strike out so much of the report as aforesaid to a removal of the Board. Carried. Tlev. Theo. Whitfield thought the Board deserved r the thanks of the Gonvent.irm- He was Very much in love with the Little i Leader plan df the Board. This Board has been ex ceedinflv liberal with their own funds : . Rev. F. II. Jones felt proud of the work the Board had done. If there was any work that was near his heart it was the Sunday School, and one in which he was actively engaged. ;IIe thought we needed system in our contributions to benevolence, and the Board had given os a system' that was highly commendable. ; Rev. F. M. Jordan spoke against Union Sunday Schools, and urged the churches to have their own Sunday Schools, and to patronize our own papers and publishing houses, and closed with some observations from his work in the State.
