I "My appeal for covered vehicles for our volunteer medical corps has not met with a single response. . I have supplied them with rubber coats, to protect them from the storm that -ha continued daring the entire day, which was the best I could do. 3ew calls for help have to gd unheeded. S Cincinnati, Sept. 11. . There was another death from yellow fe ver at Gallipolis, yesterday-fJoseph Porter, a watchman on the steamer Porter. His body "was not permitted to be removed from his house, and the neighbors would not al low his wife to leave her home. The phy sicians will make an effort to bury him to day. New Yohk, Sept 11 . r Tha Chamber of Commerce Committee to-day transmitted $5,000 to New Orleans, $1,000 to Vicksburg, and $4,000 to Mem phis. These sums were sent to the- How ard Association for distribution in the cities infected and adjacent towps and vil lages. ' -' Congressmen Acklin and Ellis and State Senator D. F. Jones, of Louisiana, Cyras Busing, President of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, and Messrs. Baylis and F. O. Davis, of Memphis, attended the meeting and conferred with the Committee as to the feasibility of establishing a central department in this city for the receipt and distribution of provisions. Chase, one of the bondsmen of late Postmaster Thompson, this morning took charge of the post office, and requests that no money be sent here by post office order, as the force now in tbe office is so small that nothing can be done except delivering the mails. . New Orleans, Sept. 11. The weather is cloudy and chilly, and thete has been a stiff northwest wind all day. Tbe deaths include 37 . minors. 22 being under 7 years. The Wenham Ice Company having offer ed to load ten cars with ice daily for five days for tbe Memphis sufferers, the con necting railroad lines transporting it -free, tbe first five cars will leave Boston to-night. via the Boston & Albany Railroad, marked "For the yellow fever sufferers, Mem phis, Tenn." Augusta. Ga., Sept 11. Augusta has contributed thirty-three hundred dollars to tbe fever sufferers. Tbomasville, Ga., sends four hundred and sixty dollars to the Howard Associa tion at Memphis. - :. - -' . Chicago. Sept. 11. The receipts from yesterday's great pic nic were over $10,000.
