In some sections it has become almost an epidemic and baffles all the skill of the physicians. In the short space of one week a Mr. Lee lost seven and all his chil dren, and at one time three of the dead were in the house unburied. Severe Accident. A little son of Rev. E. A. Yates, pastor Of the Front Street M. E. Church, was se verely injured on Monday afternoon by falling from a brick wall in the rear of the Church to the pavement below, a distance of eight or nine feet. It was thought at first that his skull bad been fractured, but we are glad to learn that such is not the case, though he received a severe contusion the forehead, from which he has sut on fered intensely. The intelligence of the accident was the occasion of much regret throughout the community. TI Fire Tester day. ; - A frame building, on the corner of Ninth and Orange streets, owned by Messrs, Nor throp & Cumming, and occupied by Mr. J' T. North rop,s was destroyed by fire yester day, about 12 o'clock.- The fire is supposed to have .originated from a spark from the chimney, the roof being in a light blaze when it whs discovered and the alarm given. Money is very much needed and unless the people generally maintain the noble work now being carried -on under the supervision of Mr. J. II. Mills, a great charity must stop, and a great injury be visited upon the poor children of the State, The orphans go to Hmithville to-day, where they will give one of their pleasing enter tainments.
