Last Friday a numerous and pleasant crowd of -the ,jood people of our sister county of Pender assembled at what is called the Moore place, about three miles from Rocky Point Depot, and had, sucb an enjoyable time as has never been surpassed and rarely equalled in that section of the country. The crowd numbered over three hundred persons and included the young, the old, the gay and the grave. ': f j The Moore place was - certainly a very fine selection for the occasion - In addi tion to; the advantages of. having for the accommodation of - the picnicers a large l and commodious dwelling, a fine shady grove lent its comfort and attractions to the scene., When the dinner hour arrived alwayB an interesting time on such occasions the bustle and activity manifested was a pieas- ing eight indeed, and the long and roomy tables which had bean tastefully stretched beneath the treea fairly groaned undeUhe Uie weight of the bountifnl repast that was spread upon them.
