Barlow busy with his solderiog-irons, etc.. and wss Informed by him ihat he bad twenty-five of his newly-Invented air and vapor-tight spirit barrels about completed and ready to be filled with spirits turpen tine for shipment to a foreign port. This will be the ultimate test, and Mr. Barlow seems perfectly sure that it will prove the barrel capable of all that la claimed lor it. The bsrrels seem lo be perfect in every particular, every joint being carefully sol dered, and from all appearances they cannot fail to meet the demands of the trade in all the requisites which they are designed to fill. There Is a cap both to the barrel proper and the metal lining, the first of which is fastened with screws and the latter ith solder, both of which can be readily removed to allow of any necessary repairs on the inside, and then replaced again. The small space between the 6taves and the metal lining is filled with composition so as to mske them solid ; then brass bungs are screwed tightly into position, and there is no chance for either leakage or evaporation. Mr. Barlow is doing the moet of the work himself, and seems to have no apprehension as to the ultimate result of what, if suc cessful, must prove a most important inven tion. It is expected that the twenty-five barrels, constituting his first order, will be shipped sometime next week. The Carreno Opera Company. .
