The rice crops on tbe river, be says, have never been belter since ante-bellum days Upland rice is generally poor. The cold spring and dry weather has broken the stand. The potato crop will be small. The Seed rotted, and there was hot a full crop planted. Cotton is looking well, but is generally not as far advanced as usual, the cool and dry weather having retarded the growth. Corn is looking fine and will be considerably over the average, provided seasonable rains shall occur. At present it is very dry, and If the drought continues ten days longer early corn will be cut off badly.
