The carcasses of three dead cows are
lying on the aide of the railroad between
Smith Creek trestle and the County Poor
House, and the stench from them is fearful.
They got out of their pasture during the
late storm, strayed to the railroad and were
tun over and killed. A wire fence has
now been ran from the trestle to a point
near the Poor House, as a protection against
the raids of stock upon the railroad track;

noceros and one ortwo others of the col-'
lection being especially; rare. The circus
propei.was of tfan'old style, and very good
indeed throughout, several features being
exceedingly flee. The acrobatic feats of the
ABhton Bros, were very "difficult and were
decidedly the best of (he kind ever seen
here; rn fact; this war We thought the acto
the performance. ' Mr'. Geo. Holland is
an acconjpliahed.ridec and .did . ail - ot Ids
work in masterly sty le, easily and grace
folly, notwithstanding the great dis-
idvantagV of havibg a soft "sandy ring.
We have ho, time to notice each of the
performers 'separately, but all of them an
quitted them selves .very creditably, and on
the whole we think Old John Robinson has
a splendid menagerie and a squarely good
circus, that will please all fond of similar
entertainments.
In conclusion, and with all due respect,
we would suggest to Mr. Lowlow, an ex
cellent clown and clever gentleman, the
propriety of dropping several little things
that mar bis fun very much, and, however
innocent be regards the business, appear to
the audience as decidedly bordering on the
indecent.

Sylvanas Oobb thas writes in the "Boston Christian
Freeman" : We would by no means recommend
any kind of medicine wklch we did not know to be
good particularly for infants. Bat of Mrs. Wlns-
ow aMwuung eyrap we can speaa: irom xnowi-
?e: In ear own family it has Droved a bless in z
iadeed, by giving an infant troubled with colic
pains, quiet sleep, and its parents unbroken rest at
night. Moet parents can appreciate these blessings.
Here is an article which works to perfection, and
which is harmless; for the sleep which it affords
the infant is perfectly natural, and the little cherub
awakes as "bright as a button." And daring the
grocess of teething its value is incalculable. We
ave frequently heard mothers say they would net
be without it from the birth of the child till it had
finished with the teething siege, on any considera
tion whatever. Bold by ail druggists. 35 cents a
bottle. .
