Mai. J. W. Dunham said: "Mr. Chair- man. in behalf of the united Democracy of New Hanover county I beg to second the resolutions.' The resolutions were put to the meeting and unanimously adopted. U. A. Bagg, aq., moved that all further matters pertaining to the county be left to the executive committee, to be hereafter chosen, as Is customary. CapL W. M. Parker moved that the thanks of the Convention are tendered to the outgoing chairman and members of the County Executive Committee for the seal and fidelity with which they bad ex ecuted their trust. MaJ. J. W. Dunham, In response to loud I calk, addressed the meeting in a short but thrilling speech. At the mention of the name of Grover Cleveland the meeting ap plauded enthusiastically. He paid a com pliment to the "Sage of Gramercy" Samuel J. TUden and was confident that with either Cleveland, Thurman or Bayard, the Democracy of the country would come out of the contest with victory perched upon their banner. He referred briefly to State. District and County affairs, and congratulated the gentlemen of the Con vention upon a united Democracy.
