This morn ing the police were called upon to quell trouble between striking and working brickmakers in the town of Lake, north of this .city. The strikers attacked non union men employed on one of the yards, but were driven away. The former then visited the yard operated by a man named Blendall, where they were again driven off. They then attacked the residence of Jlr. Blendall with stones and seriously wounded Mrs. Blendall.- Upon arrival of the? potice -they dispersed. Columbus, 6., August 26. A special from Bucktel, Ohio, says that miners are coming in from the suiroundiiig country and that a most bitter feeling exists be tween the strikers and the guards en duty. When the new men were going to the mines to-day the strikers obstructed the road.but were finally driven off by Pinker ton's men. One aged striker was knocked down by one of the guards and had an arm broken. The guard was arrested ana bound over in $500. Threats are made and more trouble is anticipated. She reported sickness on the tug .boat,' which towed her to the quarantine station, which ia twelve miles from" here, where she was; isolated and examined by the quarantine surgeon. One man was dead and two of the crew were sick with what was, pto- nounced to be yellow fever. A few days ago the Treasurer of the United States for warded to tne Uovernor of the State of Louisiana a package of $21,000 of free school bonds of the Stale, which bad been captured at Baton Rouge in 1865 by Lieut Gen. Sheridan, and which have been in the custody of the Government ever since. It was only recently established to the sat isfaction of treasury officials ! that they . rightfully belonged to the State.
