It was about six inches long, somewhat resem bling a toad fish in some particulars, espe daily aboutlthe eyes, but of variegated colors; tbe fins being fringed with a silvery white. - The mouth of this handsome fish is on top of the head ; but the most singular thing connected with it is the fact that when the thumb 'and finger are pressed under the jaw and on the top of the head, the mouth opens and the experimenter in stantly feels an electric shock in the hand and arm, extending to the shoulder. The fish is apparently a stranger in bur waters, but perhaps some of our, fishermen can throw some light on the subject.
