Deputy Marshal Carr took thepris oner to 'Portsmouth Va., where he was de livered to Marshal Hill, and in' company with two postofflce officials from Newbern sentenced to two yearB imprisonment for embezzlement, continued the journey north. Ladles' Benevolent Society The annual meeting, which should have been held on the 19th instant, was necessa rily postponed.
