During the whole month just closed there were one hundred and forty-nine old deeds probated in Mr. Van Amrlnge's office. Fire Among Cotton Bales, Fire was discovered in a lot of bales of cotton on a flat that lightermen were taking to Messrs. Spruat & Son's warehouses from the railroad depot Wednesday evening. The burning bales were pitched overboard and the " fire extinguished without much trouble. The damage was slight. It is not known liow the cotton became ignited..
