An astute and very able politician, and one who wields a big: influence in North Carolina, in a very complimentary note to us, endorses our editorial in last week's Mirror on "Cleveland's Conduct" and says that our "position is strong and tenable and well taken, and can be fortified by an array Of facts which will Drove invnlcerahle." He sajs further that "while he has made an honest, capable and patriotic President, he has dona nothing to build up the party and make it a grand and harmonious organiza tion." Nor is he will ing to stop here. We find Republicans of the most offensive character occupying high position all over the countiy to the disgust and discomfiture of the Democratic party.
