interesting reading. The noble
Southern statesman, honored and re

without, a country, says:
"Disfranchised though I be. the love of
my life for tbe Constitution and the liber
ties it was farmed to secure remains aa ar

Tha Heibodmt Church South has ben
to me tbe object of admiration and grate
ful affection, because of its fidelity to prin

power, by tbe zeal of its underpaid minis
ters who have gone along bye ways to pene
trate unfrequented regions and there
'preach the gospel to the poor.' Often has
my memory recalled the prophetic vision
or Bishop Alar Tin. Will it be fulfilled by
introducing politics into the organization
of the church he nobly illustrated ?"

need not necessarily strike the same
place every year. They apparently
all originate at the same place, but
their course is regulated by certain
atmospheric conditions, and their
diameter being but a fractional part
of the territory traversed, greatly re-
duces the chances of striking any par-

turbance usually occurs during the
earth's equinox, and it cannot be said
that it has not occurred if it fails to
reach any particular locality. Last
year's equinoctial storm, it. will be
remembered, visited the eastern coast
of Texas with sad havoc, and pass
ed up the Mississippi Valley Into
the lakes, thence up the St. Lawrence
Valley, across the ocean, and was se
