The old ware, the approach of which was heralded yesterday, swept over tho entlr cotton belt, from Wil mington to Galveston, bringing the mercury down to 60 degrees or less in all of the districts. At Atlanta, Au gusta, Mobile and Vicksburg, the ave rage minimum was 46, while for Wil mington, Charleston and Montgom ery it was 48. Of the stations in the Wilmington district, Weldcn reported the 1 west temperature 42 degrees. Cheraw and Lumberton were next with 44, Wadesboro, Char lotte and Newbern 46, Raleigh. Golds boro and Florence 48, and Wilming ton 50. The only rainfall reported yester day was in the Wilmington district at this and the Newbern station and altogether it amounted to only 7-100lhs of an inch. In tbe case of Edward Lark ids, tbe colored boy on trial for larceny, tbe jury after reuiainintpout all of Wed nesday, failed to agree and were dis charged. Yesterday, Lark in, through bis counsel, submitted to the cbarge. It is understood that the jury stood ten for conviotion and two for acquittal. Jerry Pearsall, charged witb disor derly conduct appeal from the City court was found guilty. The court suspended judgment on payment of costs. Henry Cane, the oolored man who attempted to pass a bogus o heck on a Market street store-keeper, was con victed of false pretences and sentenc ed to tbree years in tbe State peni tentiary. Annie Ballard and Ellen Sidbury, convicted of an affray, were fined the costs in the ease. Luoy Jot dan and Patsey Peden, mother and daughter, were oharged with the larceny of wearing apparel, tbe property of Laura Johnson, ool ored, and the trial of the ease occu pied the time of the court until a re cess was taken until this morning. Later in the day further advices were received, that the eyelone had paaaed to the eastward across Florida, and high northeast winds prevailed north of Jacksonville. Cautionary signals were ordered up at Charleston. In this vicinity up to midnight, there were no indications of the ap proach of the eyelone.
