Sneeden et al., tried last week, the Court denied the motion of plaintiff's counsel for judgment for plaintiff on the verdict, for nominal damages and coats of salt, and after over-rnling a motion for a new trial gave judgment for defendant. An appeal was taken by counsel, and plaintiff's bond was fixed at $160. In the case of Puffer vs. Lucas et al. both plaintiff and defendant mov ed for judgment on the verdict; the Court refused to give judgment in fa vor of either, npon which both plain -tiff and defendant appealed. In the case of William Sneeden vs. George Harries et al, motion to make D. L. Russell party defendant was al lowed. Plaintiff then moved for thirty days to file amended complaint and that defendant have sixty days to answer as of this term, which order the C ourt made and defendant Rus sell appealed to the Supreme Court In the case of Sol. Wiell, receiver, vs. First National Bank, the facts were agreed npon and the Court re - served its judgment. Other cases were disposed of as follows: Riohmond Locomotive and Machine Works vs. The Puget Sound Creosote Co. et al. The Court took a recess in the af ternoon nntil this morning, when the business of the term will be con cluded. Horses for ttie fire Department. The Chief of the Fire Department received a letter yesterday from Mr. H. B. Fuller, that the five horses or dered for the Fire Department were shipped from Chicago last Saturday evening, and will probably reach here next Tuesday or Wednesday. There will be a pair for the Atlantic engine, one for the hose reel of that company, and a pair for Wilmington Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1. Both pair are matches as to color, are extra heavy, and will weigh upwards of 3,000 pounds per pair.
