Firo broke out about half-past six o clock bunday morning in the bar ber shop of W. ii. Nash, colored, in the basement, corner of Front and Princess street. The alarm was turned in from box No. 15, Front and Mulberry, and the Fire Department promptly answered the call. A line of boe was laid from the hydrant on corner of Front and Princess and in a very few minutes the fire was ex tinguished. But for the timely ac tiou of the department a serious fire might have resulted. Wben the firemen broke in the street door three of the barber-chairs were on fire, and in an adjacent room the door of which was closed, they found a lighted kerosene lamp and a lot of loose paper burning on the floor. It was found, also, that two of the kerosene lamps in the shop were empty, and the burners unscrewed and taken off. From all appearances the place had been set on fire. The damage to furniture in the bop is estimated at about $75; in surance $500. The damage to the building, the property of Mr. Sol. Bear, is trifling. It is insured for $2, 600. Mr. Boyd, in his female im personation, was all that one could wish, and he was the cynosure of all eyes, one oi toe pieasantest parts oi the performance was the Chinese Juggler, Majilton, whose new and varied feats of legerdemain were most excellent, and to see him alone is fully worth the price of admission.
