A runaway horse,- dragging after him a light wagon, went dashing down Falton street, Brooklyn, at a breakneck speed yesterday after noon, in tne wagon was an elderly man and a small"; boy. The man placed the boy at the bottom of the wagon between his teet to keep him from falling: from the swaying wagon. Pulling the reins had no effect, and around street corners the wild horse flew at a terrific speed. On Liberty avenue a crowd tried to follow the maddened animal and kept shouting at the man in the wagon to drop his reins and jump for his life. He did not heed their warnings but still clung with des peration. As the wagon dashed past Penn sylvania . and Liberty avenues, the little fellow broke loose from be tween the driver's legs and threat ened to fall head first. Fearlessly placing the reins between bis teeth, the driver, with blanched face, seized the little fellow in his arms and re turned him between his legs. Charles Peircy followed the run away as close as possible in his carriage. Neer the corner of East New York and Rockaway avenues the horses through sheer exhaustion stopped and quivereg. Peircy drove up and asked the driver why he did nof jump out. The drivgr quietly bent over, and taking in his arms the unconscious child, turned to Peircy and asked: ' "Stranger, have you a little boy?" The man after having resuscitated the child drove away. He positive ly refused to give his name. FOR - Beeswax. IF YOU HAVE SOME TO SELL SHIP TO US AND. WE WILL ALLOW YOU 26 Cents Per Pound for it in Boston and NO CHARGE FOR COMMIS SIONS or carting.
