Tne Cubans Selzj All Train for the Oily- Bo Provlfiona Could Be Taken to the Capital for an Eotire Day. Havana, July 31. via Key West, Aug. 1. This morning 200 insurgents, under command of Andres Hernandez, en tered Las Puentes, a suburo of Havana city, and took possession of tbe place. They plundered the military stations in which the Spaniards kept money for the troops, and sacked several stores, among them a drug store, from which they took all the medicines. Strange to sav, they did not take any provisions, and all tbe stock in the grocery stores was thrown into the streets. A Cuban captain when asked to explain this, replied : All these food supplies are from Spain, the rice from Valencia, sausages from Arragon, and beans from Castille. We don t want anything Spanish, even in our looa. The four large grocery stores in the suburb were ruined, and all the goods they contained were scattered to the four winds. Five other stores in the outskirts were also ransacked. Two hundred other lnaurgents, under Gen. Baldomero Acosta, were near the suburb to check the Spanish column. which is operating cround Havana, in case it should come to help tbe garrison. The Spanish surrendered after a short resistance, in which they lost a captain. Last night several other insurgent bands attacked La Vivora. another suburb of Havana, and advanced to Jesus del Monte. Many young men of the capital joined them, wajay, an other Havana suburb, and Arroyo Apolo have been fired upon by Cuban bands. To-dav no provisions from the coun try could enter the capital. The Cubans had seized all the trains coming to Ha vana. Only the Spanish troops remain now in the suburbs. AU the other inhabitants have fled to the city. Havana is panic atricken and the raid of this morning in Las Paentes bad increased the general alarm. Tbe Spaniards accuse Gen. Wey- ler of being wholly responsible for the situation. Gen. Alejandro Rodriguez, Comman der-in-Chief of the Cuban forces in Ha vana province, has notified Gen. Weyler that he will continue to make raids upon the capital until the Spaniards are con vinced that the best they can do is to leave it. In Santa Clara. Matanzas, Puerto Prin cipe and Santiago de Cuba provinces tbe war is much more active now than last month. In Santa Clara Ae Spanish of ficial reports themselves give a larger average of daily encounters. Mai Andres Hernandez bas issued a notice for the benefit of the inhabitanta of Havana that the Spanish report, authorized by Gen. Weyler, that Gen. Qaintin BanderaS had been killed in aanta Clara province, is a lie. Tbe insurgents sav further that Col. Enrique Junco. reported as killed by Gen. Weyler, aad Dr. Ensebio Hernan dez are also very much alive. THE CROP OUTLOOK. Waalhat Generally Vavorabl. Crops Do le Wall Tobaoeo Carina In roll Bloat.
