Tbe Mayor ttated tbat several mer chants bad been compelled to carry over large stocks of cannon crackers by reason of tbe cannon cracker ordinance, patted at it wai latt year after the stocks bad been laid in. and that in view of tbeae facts he thought it best to draw tbe ordinance before tbe time for order ing holiday goods arrives, ao as to let tbe merchants know exactly what tbey have to depind on.
