Eighty-Sixth Anniversary of 1. O. O. F. Founding in United States Ela- borate Programme. PRODUCE TRAVELERS According to the beautiful custom of the order all over the world, the four enthusiastic I. O. O. F. lodges of this city will on next Wednesday night ela borately celebrate the eighty-sixth an niversary of the establishment of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in the United States. The observance this year N will be confined to members of the order and the Daughters of Re bekah, the ladies auxiliary of the I. 0. O. F., and the exercises will take place in Pythian Castle Hall, third floor; of the Murchlson National Bank building. However, after the formal programme has been observed, there will be a spread: of delightful refresh ments when all formalities will be laid aside and the Odd Fellows and their Seventh Annual Meeting, Outing and Banquet of the Ameri can Association. The banquet opened with a very cor dial address of welcome by President J. A. Taylor, of the Wilmington Cham ber of Commerce, and the response, none the less cordial, was by Coll J. G Thompson, the newly elected president of the Association. Both speakers gave some interesting data as to the in mensity of the trucking industry around Wilmington and were very hap- ipy in their exchange -of courtesies. Mr. James Bond, of Baltimore, sponded to the tCast "The Commission Merchant' in a fine effort and was fol lowed by Mr. H. T. Bauman, business agent of the East Carolina Truck and Fruit Growers' Association, who: spoke interestingly of that valued organia tion to both the grower and consignee. Mr. J. W. White, industrial agent of the Seaboard Air Line, spoke encourag ingly of the co-operation of the rail ways in promoting the great industry and their willingness to do even great er; things.; Mr. H. B. Gerrish, of Gerrish Bros., Boston, retiring president of the As sociation, spoke of the cordial relations that should exist between j the two great factors of this enterprise and some of the elements of success in handling the crop Hon.
