Accord ing to the official records in the Unit ed, States Weather Bureau office in this city, the maximum temperature for the day was 34 degrees, against the next highest record in the thirty three yeaKS history of the Weather Pureau of 87 degrees on the 22hd of the month in 1894. Observer Felger eafd that the mercury reached the high mark about 4 o'clock in the af ternoon, and that the condition was really phenomenal; that it applied not only to Wilmington, but to the coun try at large.
