R. H. Dellinger. While here Mr. R. H.
Dellinger had his commission as first

The commission bears the signature

having brought to market his 1907
crop of cotton- consisting of 14 bales.
It is said to be the finest lot of staple
that has been brought to this city in
a number of years, grading as strict
good middling. On January 21st, 1908,
the seller was offered 12 3-4 cents a
pound for it, but refused, holding for
a higher price. The staple was sold
today at 9 1-2 cents, the seller sus

Wadesboro Messenger: J. W.

and while here remarked to a repre

term of Anson county criminal court
in March 1S51, 58 years ago. He was
then 21 years of age and remembers
the circumstances well, as hewas call

when court opened. Later a gentle
man, who was better acquainted, with
public affairs than Uncle Jerry at that
time got the Judge to remit the fine,
charging for his service a glass of

Strafige, of Wilmington, presided over
the court.
Asheboro, March 11. Jonah Yow,
a young white man of Cedar Falls, was
found dead by the roadside a few
yards from his . home Wednesday
morning. His death is surrounded
with mystery. The young man was
found with a bullet wound in his fore
head, the ball passing through his
skull. He was 18 years old and is
survived by a young wife. The young
man was at his father's house a short
time before 9 o'clock Tuesday night,
and seemed to be in fine spirits, it is
not thought that he met death at his
own hand. If so no cause can be as
signed for the rash act. Foul play
was suspected and the sheriff and cor

examining several witnesses tha sher
iff turned the body over to relatives,
finding that the young man died by
his own harid.
