VERY DESIRABLE PROPERTY IN
LUMBERTON FOR SALE.
Being desirous of removing to an adjoining Coun

village of Luiuberton:
]. The LOT on which I now reside, containing IH
Acres, part reclaimed Swamp, and all very productive,
and in a good siate of cultivation, surrounded by a plank
fence in good repair. The Dwelling house is in thorough
repair, (part entirely new,) with all necessary out
buildings almost new, and very conveniently arrange«l:
there is in the yard a Well of excellent Water, and there
are on the Lot a great many different sorts of choice
Fruits, and good vegetable and flower Gardens. The
yard is on a high and healthy situation on the boundary
line of the town, covered with a fine grove of natural
growth, .\ltogether. it is believeil to be the most de
sirable situation in the village.
2. The LOT on the corner of the Public Square and
the Columbus road, adjoining the Presbyterian Church,
containing about One-fourth of an .Acre, on which there
is a good Brick Office, containing Two rooms, each
with a fire place.
A part of the LOT on Main Street, adjoining Mrs.
P'iggs s and Mrs. Daniel’s Lots, on the corner opposite
to Mrs. McQueen’s residence, on which there is a small
P>uilding, and the best Well in town.
No village in this section of the country presents at
this time, greater inducements to a business man than
Lumberton. Pleasantly situated on Lumber River,
where it is crossed by the Wilmington, Charlotte and
llutherford Rail Road, on which the trians now run re
gularly tothat point, it nnist improve.
The above property will be sold either together, or

IS TO CERTIFY, that we, the undersigned,
have seen the performance of a new Water Wheel,
invented t>y George W. Armstrong, of Sampson county,
.N'o. t’a. It grinils .a bushel of gooI meal in 3 minutes
and 48 seconils, with seven feet five inches of water, and
'.ives half the water with comparison of other wheels.

R. W. TATO.M.
Dec'r 21. I8tl0. G, W. SMITH.
This wheel has many atlvantages over all other water
wheels. It is a packed wheel, so no water can escape
between the top of the wheel and bottom of the case,
conx quetuly no wa^er does escape only what performs
labiir. It is so cousiructe'l that the pressure of the
Gudgeon on the ink with comparison of other wheels is
very slight, owing to a cone attached to the shaft at the
top of the case, counter-bHlancing the weight of water
r*'siing on the wheel. In this wheel the water does not
act by it« weight or momentum, but by its centrifugal
force and the reaction that is produced by the flowing
of the water on the ends of the buckets immediately be
hind orifices of discharge. The cetitnfugal force and
tlie force of discharge thus acting at the same time and
each increasing the force of the other, this wheel re
volve' with great velocity and power.
Further jiarticulars relative to the above wheel can
be learneil by application to or addressing the subscri
ber at Dobbinville Post Office. Sampson County. N. C.

This caution is rendered essentially necessary, as

injury thus intlictetl alike on the .\merican consumer

chasers can be imposed on with Goods of a worthless
