The scarcity of in’ii»rlal for sale in the State, and the uncertuintj' of procuring suppliei from abroad, force us to rely on our domestic resources. It is thought that every family cati spare one or more Blankets without personal inconvenience, or a jiair of V\oolen Socks, and ii is believed that for such a pur pose ;i call would be responded to with alacrify. It In'* tiierefore been concluded that an ap|>eal for this purp)se be made to the great body of the people, and with that view I have to request the Sheriffs of the several Cfuniies to act as agents of the State, to soliiii a contribution of this kiml. All contributions of this kinl may be boxed and for warded to the nearest Railroad Depot, and due informa tion thereof sect to the Governor. The Slieriffs are further requested to furnish to the Governor a list ot the donors.
