YANCEY VILLE. Caswell County, N. C, December 6th, 1872 Captain W. P. R BIXSON, Dear Sir in reply to your Inquiry as to how I liked the Sea Island Guano I got of you, I wish to say that I applied it, 200 pounds to the acre, alongside of Peruvian Pacini Guano and Gilham's Tobacco Fertilizer in equal quantities; it stands the drouth better than either of the above fertilizers. It matured better on the hill and cured better and more yellow than either of the other fertilizers used. I think it is a splendid fertilizer and I expect to use it next season..
