Hbc. 8. This act shall apply to all uncol lected taxes. Hkc. 4. This act shall tke effect from and after its jyassage. Mr. Bobbins moved its indefinite post ponement. He was surprised that any Senator should have introduced inch a mer ciless bill. He (supposed that it must have originated from some man who doe net love North Carolina lie protested agsinst this bill, in the name of the sutlcrlng people of thi Btate. The law upon thi subject were already stringent enough. This bill would enrich the Sherill, but was death to our pov erty stricken people. Mr. Colgrove was willing that the bill should be relerred to n appropriate Com mittee, but was opposed to its indefinite postponement. Messrs. Osborne and Barrow ooncurred in the position taken by Mr. K'lbhiiis. The Committee of Finance would introduce a general bill covering this subject, and they were in favor of its indt finite postponement.
