And 'be it further enacted, T iat in all cases in which deeds for property sold for the direct tax im- posed in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, shall riot have been made, or in which defec tive deeds have 1 been made, deeds may and hair be granted ihrefor by the marshals of the respective dis tricts in which the property is situate within two years from the nassaere i this act, l where the right ot re- demption has expired, & in other tiiscs w iunujiwo-years aiier me said right may expire, on the terms, and subject to the conditions fixed by I iw : 'Provided.
