TO THE PUBLIC IN a late Raleigh. Register," I saw with astonish ment an Advertisement, giving notice of an At tachment against my property, sued out at the in stance of Jacob Hunter, during my absence to Ala bama. No one, to whom I am indebted, ever before so served me ; and, in the present instance, I can show that this attachment issued on the assertion, by Jacob Hunter, of a base felsehdodi The facts are thee: In 1842, 1 endorsed a claim or an order, drawn on Isaac SullivanU of Anson County, by Alfred W. Lewis, Of this City fdr $200. But an instrument of writing was drawn, at the same time, between Lewis, myself, and Hunter, the condition of which was that Hunter was to make the mosey, or try to do so, out of Sullivant. And I was only bound, in the eveut of his failing to secure t e amount doe, from the said Sullivant. He waited from August 1842, until some, time in 1843, and never sued Sullivant In the mean time, 8uUivant died, and left an unincumbered Es tate of $25,000 to 830,000. SOU, Mr. Hunter fails to sue his Executer, but prefers going before a Magis trate, in my absence, and swears that I am justly in debted to him in the sum of $200. These facts, I am prepared to establish by Richard Smith, Esq. of Ra leigh, who drew the instrument of writing between us ; or, I am willing to refer to the instrument itself. I wish the public to know the facts of the case, and I have fairly stated them. If Jacob Hunter, the note shaver, and op'pressor of the poor, will sue Mr. Sulli van t's Executor, and fails to make tho recovery, then I acknowledge myself bound for the amount of the claim ; but not otherwise.
