March 18, 1846. 34 ly Acres of Valuable Land, On the waters of Deep Rifer, Chatham Connty, FOR SALE. Being too .old and feeble to attend to concerns of such magnitude, I hereby offer for sale, on the most accommodating terms, the following very valuable f roperty, u: Egypt, the Plantation on which I reside, con taining about 3,000 acres 900 of which are cleared, and 100 more in process of clearing. Of these, 5ou acres are low grounds, but so situated as to suffer but little from overflow. Fifty dollars would cover all losses from damage of this kiud, for the whole period of 18 years that I have owned the Plantation. There can be 1200 . acres of cleared Land on tbe Farm, and no part of it more than 1 miles from tbe Homestead.' There is a great diversity of soil in this Tract, which enables the owner to grow any crop be chooses, suitable to the climate. It is peculiarly a. dapted to tbe culture of small grain and Tobacco, as is evidenced ly my Crops. The Farm is cultivated under tbe three-shift system; and is well drained with open, covered and horizontal ditches ; and tbe whole is under a good fence, with all the buildings ne cessary f.r a Farm of this extent. In addition to the ordinary buildings, there is a Granary that will bold 1500 bushels of Wheat in the Sheaf ; and contains, beside, a fine Thresher, Crusher and Corn-sheller. There is, also, a capital Gin House, with Screws, 6tc. Also, a good Smoke House, and a Store building, eligibly situated for Country trade. There is, in ad dition, a Toll Bridge across Deep River, and the half of a fine water privilege on the River, for a Mill or Factory. And to crown the whole, it is con venient to Mills, and a Market, has a fine range for Cattle and Hogs, and cannot be surpassed for health. The Plantation is uniformly admired by Travellers, and is said to be tbe best and handsomest Farm be tween Raleigh and the Mountains. Also, one other TRACT OF LAND, lying on tbe same River, called Mount Aibt, containing 1 100 Acres. This Tract is bounded by the River and Indian Creek, and contains 350 acres of first and second low grounds (not subject to overflow,) and 400 acres of No. 1 Highland, and lies most beauti fully lor cultivation. This Tract has tbe very richest growth of Timber I ever saw on high land, con sisting of Locust, Walnut, Buckeye, Red - bud and black Haw. . I consider this one of the most valuable Tracts of Land in North Carolina. There are about 400 acres in cultivation the re it to cloar Tbe buildings ' are' all nearly new ; there is a Mineral Spring oo tbe tract of great value, with a firet rate range lor Cattle, Hogs, etc. The Laud is adapted to tbVcultuie of every ciop, that can be raised in this climate. It is No. 1 for Tobacco, is within 2 miles of a Merchant Mill, and the salubrity of tbe situation cannot be surpassed. . 1 will sell both of these Farms on long credits, it the debt be made perfectly secure, and the Interest punctually paid, annually. A small payment only will be required, when the deeds are executed. , It may be asked why it is that I offer such valuable property for sale f I answer, in addition to tbe fact of my growing moralities, that I have but one son that is a Farmer, and he has removed to Mississippi, where I wish to send my negroes. ' 1 will also sell Stock aud Provisions, and Planta tion implements to the purchaser. : ' PETER EVANS. ' Egypt, Chatham County, 48 Sm June 184. N. B. Wishing to quit the Mercantile business, whether or not I sefl my Lands, I, offer for sale my Stock of Goods now on hand. I will rent my Store -a first. rate stand for business, as my books will show and' will ' board the person purchasing the Goods in my (amity. i J Persona wishing , to purchase, can apply to me, personally, at' Egypt, or address ma by letter, to Piltsboro', Chatham County.
