Warrvit, one of the highest authorities in the United Slates, speaks of this preparation and iu application, in terras which must secure for it the confidence of all ; and his views of its efficacy and usefulness are fully concurred in by the principal Surgeons of all the London Hospitals. The inhala tion of the vapor of Ether is perfectly harmless ; and scarcely a day pases without operations being per formed under its influence. Such is the testimony from all parts of Great Britain. In Paris, its recep tion is no less flattering. Tr.ere the general opinion seemed to be, (says the Report of the Secretary of the Academy of Science, and the names of some of the most eminent Surgeons of Paris are given as authority for this opinion,) that in ninety -nine caes out of a hundred, comph te success may be obtained, if proper inhaling apparatus be used, and the E.iier nbe pore and highly rectified ; and that, with such precautions, bo danger is lo be apprehended in oue case out of ten thousand. xo pais !
