Dr. Townsend is almost daily receiving orders from Physicians in different parts of the Union Tina is to certify that we the undersigned. Phvsi cians of tbe City of Albany, bave in numerous caiQ prescribed Dr. Townsend's Sarsaparilla, and believe it to be one of tbe most valuable preparations in the market. H. P. rULING, M D. J. WILSON,. M. D. R. P. BRIDGES, M D. P. E ELMENDORF, M. D. Albany, April 1, 1846. UNITED STATES OFFICER. Capt. G. W. McLean, one of tbe United States Marine Corps and member of tbe New Jersey Leg islature, has kindly sent us the following certificate. It tells its own story. Rahtcay, Jan. 25, 1847. A year since I was taken with tbe Influenza, and my whole system left in a debilitated state. I "was induced to try Dr. Townsend's Sarsaparilla, and after taking two or three bottles, I was very much relieved, and attribute it entirely to the aaid Sarsaparilla I have continued taking it, and find that I improve every day. I believe it saved my life, and would hot be without it under any cousideration. G. W. McLEAN. DYSPEPSIA. No fluid or medicir.e has ever been discovered which so nearly resembles the gastric juice or saliva, in decomposing food and strengthening the organs ol digestion, as tins preparaiion of Sarsaparilla. It positively cures every case of dyspepsia, however severe or chronic. Bank Department, Albany. May 10, 1345. Dr. Townsend: Sir I have been afllicted for several years witli Dyspepsia in its worst forms, at tended with soreness of stomach, loss of appetite, ex treme heart-burn, and a great aversion toall kinds o( food, and for weeks (what I could eat) I bave "been unable to retain but jsawall portion on my stomach. I tried tbe usual remedies, but ibey bad liule or no effect in removing the complaint. I was induced, about two months since, to try your Extract of Sar saparilla, and I must say with little confidence; but alter using nearly two bottles, I found tny appetite restoied, and the heart-burn entirely removed; and 1 would earnestly recommend tbe use of it to these who have been aiflicted as I have been Yours, &.c. Tti E receut hot weather, and the iufluenxn. have Isft mapy subject to be affected by the changes of temperament and coutae'ious influences com mo u to this month ; but, by the timely use of Brandrelh's Pills, even uow this susceptibility can be iu great measure removed, and powers giveu the system to resist those morbific poisons, and the sudden changes in the weather with which it may be brought iu con tact during the next fifty days. Nature nas formed the bowels for the evacuation of all unhealthy hu mors ; aud if man would but use common sense, he Would take care they performed this office faithfully. If the bowels are out of order if too slow or too fast a few doses of Braudretli'a Tills will bring them to order. Ask the man who was dying from coustipa ted bowels, what cured him ; he tell you, Brandreth'a Pills cured him io a week. So with other diseases Twelve Braudrelh Pills, rubbed down in half a pint of molases, cured a little boy of an ulcer of the face, which was rapidly spreading to hia eyes, aud which a doaen doctors had tried to cure, but could not ; the poor parent would have given half they were worth to have had it cured, but every thing they tried did no good, until they gave it a tea-spoonful of molas ses every day in half a piut of which they had rub bed dowu twelve Brandrelh Pills. Before the whole of the molasses was takeu. the ulcer was cured. Aud yet some foolish people call Brandrelh's Pills a quick medicine. It would be well if there were a few more such quack medicines. Will all your pretended Sar saparilla Compounds cure like the Brandrelh Pills? Can they send you to persons cured, as Mr. Brandrelh cau ? Cau they point out to you people who had been helpless for years from Epilepsy and St. Vitus' Dance, who have been cured by their remedies? If they cannot, Dr Brandrelh can. Can they point out to you a person who for twenty years had never had a stool without having used medicine or mechan ical means, aud whom the Brandrelh Pills cured in a mouth, and gave him as healthy evacuations as he had when he was a child? If they cannot, Dr. Brandreth can. By having the Brandreth Pills always on hand, should a sudden attack of sickness take place, they can be given at once, and will often bave effected a cure before the physician could have arrived. IuCholicand lurlamation of the Bowels, these Pills will at once relieve, and perseverance iu their use, according to the directions, will surely do all that mediciue can do, to restore the health of the patient. In all cases of Indigestion, Worms. Asthma, Dis eases of the Heart, and in all Affections of the Stom ach and Bowels, the Brandreth Pills will be found a neer-failing remedy. To insure the full benefit of these celebrated Pills they should be in the house, so that upon the firs; commencement of sickness, they may be restored io. One dose then is better than a dozen after disease has become established in the system. BE CAREFUL OF COUNTERFEITS. How' to avoid them : Each Agent who sells the genuine Brandreth Pills, has a certificate of Agency which has been engraved at a vast expence. It rep reoents the Manufactory at Sing Sang, on the bank of the Hudson River, and is signed by Dr. Bran dreth. and his seal stamped upon the paper, also a fac-simile of the labels upon the boxes.
