REMARKABLE CURE OF PILES Tutrtt Years Stavdiits ! ! Moust Washington, Berkshire Co., Mass Nov. 29(h, 1847. Messrs. Wtatt & Ketcham : Gents For 30 years I have been afflicted with Piles, general Debil ity, and Inflammation, causing tumors and prolapsus of the bowels, and which had resisted all the medical treatment Dr. Chapman and others could give. The last three years of that time my .sufferings defy de scription. I was confined to bed unable lo help my self, and at last given up by my physicians and friends in despair ol ever gnining ray health ; in fact, for lime before I commenced using Dr. Upbam's Elec tuary, I was entirely speechless, and my burial clothes were made. But under the beneficent mercies of Providence, and the use of Dr. Upham's Electuary, though an old MAR,I4iave the pleasure of stating the fact to the puhlic that my health is now good, and I hope to live many years, if it is God's will, to make known the virtues of Dr. Uj.hara s Electuary, and to recommend it to my afflicted fellow creatures. It helped me beyond the expeciationa of all. who knew my case, and I can only say to others, that it is in my opinion, the best medicine in the world tor Piles, or any other disease of the bowels ; and if they will uae it according to the directions, I will myself warrant a cure, in every case. So, one of my opponents will leave it with the learned to decide" whether there be m re than one cause ol disease. Disease mav be defined as the on. posite of health. - What is heaUli ? It is the per formance, regularly, of all the functions of the bodv. fully,-and without pain. What is disease ? It is want of Life in the- part where the pain is felt, or wuere the numbness or enlargement is situated. How do you know it is so I Lo.k at that piece of meat, it is becoming putrid.- VV.hat makes it putrid! it was not so when formiug part of a living body. No Because theu the lie principle was able to throw ff a particular malter which neutralized the atmospher ic air, and in-tead of producing disease produced the preatn ol lile, and is the cause of the heat of the hu man body. So a warifof life in a. pari, is disease in that part. Of course it is. For how could impure humors collect, if the powers of life were strong enough to throw them out without 'the aid of medi cine ? f he thing is impossible. But say some, bow do you know that the powers of life would" not throw out thejmpure humors collected in any- part of the uwjj , nuuuut icKuruug 10 meoicine 1 1 answer to such, that it would be like the aiding a man after he was crushed lo death with a load, which we -had the power to take off his back befire he was bun ; but we, like hard-hearted wretches, wished to see wheth er he could not get up without help, and when he is dead.yve say oh ! I wish I had helped him before This would be a case of crime next lo murder ; and it is not tbe less a crime, that we kill ourselves by waiting until nature helps herself. We have the means in our own hands of cure, without reducing the life principle to its lowest ebb, but on the contra ry, every time we use Brondreth's Pills, when we are sick, we are better and betrer. until we are again restored to health'. These Pills supply that princi ple td the human body which it requires when the life principle is depiessed by disease, to guard jt froml toe injurious eflect f ibe atmosphere ; and those who use them, are satisfied this result is obtained. Here in Providence, i can refer, if necessary, to many who will corroborate all I have asserted, and especially to an old gentleman eighty-three years old, .who has la Fken themlhe last seven years, and no other medicine. and who, no one would suppose, fo look at bim, was much over sixty. His life, ns he assured me, appear ed to- have been renewed, since be had recourse to Brandreth Pdls - Then there is Mrs Hooper's case, of Warehams Bajnstuble Co Mass.; for nearly twenty years 'she was unable ta render any assistance to herself. ' Her disease showed itself as St. Vitus' Dance. Onehun, dred and fifty boxes of. Pills cured her, and sbe has been healthy now for seven years, and fully compe tent to all ihe duties of her family.. Her case, a written by herself, was published five years ago. - I. have just received the case of a. medical gentle man, who resides at Sherbrook, Canada, who for twenty years was. sorely afflicted with a disease, which came out in blotches and scabs all over his body. This gentleman so far forgot his prejudices, which too ofien curse his profession, as to apply per sonally to Dr. Brandreth, and his course proved a happy one. Within six months he was entirely cured of his miserable and tormenting disease by the use of the Brandreth PiUs Time would fail nv, were I to go on enumerating the many cures of diseases, considered incurable by Physicians, which have. been affected solely by the use of the Brandreth Pills! Let me assure all those who have not yet tried this Blessing of the Human Race, in no case can they do injury, because they are made of loose" herbs and roots which experience has fully proved always har monize with the human body. The omission of pur ging with .them in ease of sickness, ts often tbe cause of a long attack, often ending only by a , cessation of life. - ' How important it is that this , course ahopld be pursued ; it will not only be the surest way of res toring ; but it will, in a great measure prevent the recurrence of constitutional maladies and will surely weaken tbe malignity' ef the attacks, and in lime se cure robust health. - '. All persons should carefully purchase Brandreth's Pills only of the regularly appointed Agents. They should thus insure themselves the genuine article ; otherwise theymay often light upon a counterfeit ar ticle. Be careful. . C The above Pills are on sale by WILL. PECK, Raleigh N. C Price 25 cents per box. Notice. THIS is to notify Mlicajah Burnett, that he bro't his Horse to my house, on the 4lh day of September, and that the aaid Burnett was to come and get him in two weeks. - Npw, this is to notify the said Bur nett, that I shall offer tbe Horse feu sale, if he does not come and get bim, on or before the 19th day of October, 1848. .
