The .sulphur lused is imported directly from Sicily. About fourteen tons of acid are daily used. Nitre is brought from South America and the East Indies, and thus it will be seen that to manufacture a ton of the Xarassa Gunno nearly thc entire globe is laid under contribution. During this time thc greatest activity prevails. Trains arc often loaded on tnree dinercnt roads at the same time, and sail vessels and steamboats and light ers arc taking in or discharging cargoes at the wharf. The Company have shipped as high as 200 tons per day, and often average 100 tons per day through a maith.
