C. feb 13-6m. Pearce Cotton. AWARDED A MEDAL AT THE LAST FAIR OF THE CAPE FEAR AGRICULTU- -RAL SOCIETY. I introduced the PEARCE COTTON into this State about three years ago. The cost ot seed was so great that I obtained but a small quantity and have taken great pains to preserve j and Jmpreve them I have planted and made three crops of the cotton and find it to be SUPERIOR toany other I have evei seen. It is very prolific and is of the long staple species resembling, it not equal to, the celebrated Sea Island Cotton. It is a very early cotton much, earlier than ordinary cotton. It commands a pricet nearly double that of common cotton, and is conceded to be more prolific than any other In the United States. It grows in clusters of from eight to twelve ; squares; commences braachinc very near the ground, and will yield FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS of seed cotton to the acre on im proved land. This cotton is planted and cultivated in the same manner as is.other cotton, andjn offering the seed for sale I claim : j 1st. That it will make 50 per cent more than any other cotton in the State. 2nd. That it will command in the market 8 or 10 cents more per pound than common cotton. , In order to place this superior cotton in the ands of eveiy farmer, the price of the seed is reduced to $3 per peck, or $10 per bushel. Seed can be sent by Express or Freight and will be securely packed before being shipped, Money can be sent by Registered Letter or Post Office Order on Wilson, N. C. l3?One tale of this cotton was shippe to Philadelphia last December and sold for 23 cents, per pound which was eight cents in ex cess of e-ood middlins cotton at that time. Circulats containing certificates &c. sent on annliration. All orders for seed will be promptly attended toby addressing the under; signed at Wilson, N C. J. J. PEARCE, or R. M. PEARCE. Feb 27 1-m !
